On Friday 14 th July Conway Road Infants School held a celebration of 130 year's since the school was first built and opened as a ‘ Board School ', standing on ½ an acre of land which was owned by Whitehall Dodd, owner of the Bryn Euryn Estate, and catered for both boys and girls. The first Headmaster of the school was Mr Edwin Griffiths, whose wage was £70 per week.
The children of the school dressed in Victorian dress and there was be an exhibition of old photographs, memorabilia and artifacts to view.
The PTA of the school ran stalls with a Victorian theme with old fashioned games for the children to play, such as the coconut shy, hoopla, roll-a-penny and more. The children also did maypole dancing and singing traditional seaside songs.

A drop in session for any visitors and past pupils began from 1pm onwards, where afternoon tea was served by the Year 2 children.
